Interested in Joining a Small Christian Community that Meets Virtually?

Small Christian Communities (SCC) are small groups of parishioners who gather regularly for prayer and reflection.  These groups are called Small Christian Communities because they come together to reflect on the scriptures for a coming Sunday Mass using a process  which connects our faith life with our lived experiences.  While it is not a bible study as such, it is prayerful  process of looking at how our lives and our relationship to Jesus can be viewed and understood through the lens of the scriptures we hear and read each Sunday.

Over the years, there have been several groups at St. Matthew and St. Bernard who met in person on a monthly schedule, and these will continue.  However, we are now looking to offer this experience also to persons who are homebound and/or whose schedules are such that commitment to attend regular in-person group is not always possible, or parishioners who have moved out of area but would like to maintain their contact with the parish.   These meeting will be done via your computer using the parish’s virtual zoom capabilities for attending meetings.

If you are interested in learning more about joining one these virtual meetings, please  contact Deacon Ron Freedman at 860-872-0200 x310 or deacon.ron@cath-comm.org
