Blessed Sacrament Parish has a Building Committee that helps the pastor and business manager in planning and recommending priority tor the enhancement and maintennce our parish facilities at our Church campuses at St. Matthew in Tolland and St. Bernard in Rockville. The Hospitality Ministry helps with fellowship refreshments. If you would like to be on our list to bake or buy an item for our parish events, please email hospitality@cath-comm.org. Participation in every event is not required. Help when you are available.

When the Sacred Scriptures are read in the Church, God himself speaks to his people, and Christ, present in his word, proclaims the Gospel. Therefore, the readings from the Word of God are to be listened to reverently by everyone, for they are an element of the greatest importance in the Liturgy. (From the General Instruction of the Roman Missal #29)

The function of proclaiming the readings is by tradition is ministerial. Therefore the readings are to be read by a reader. Those chosen for this ministry enhance our worship by using their gifts to proclaim the Word of God at Mass and in our liturgical celebrations.

The Pro-Life Committee provides various services to the parish and to the community as needed. Members respond to pending local, state or national Pro-Life legislation or other voting issues, support Birthright and other crisis pregnancy centers in the area, and provide the Blessed Sacrament parishioners with the latest information, education and materials on Pro-Life issues and developments. To support these activities the Pro-Life Committee uses various fund raising activities such as redemption of returnable bottles and cans, auctions and direct sales events. In addition to Parish Council members, membership is open to any registered parishioner of Blessed Sacrament who wishes to volunteer. For more information please contact the Parish Office.

Greeters are parishioners that are dedicated to attending the same Mass each weekend in order to give that welcome smile, a word of kindness and reassurance to people as they enter the church. The greeters make certain that everyone can find a seat at Mass. Along with the ushers, the greeters help to take up the collection. After Mass, they will give a sincere "good day" as the parish bulletin is handed to the departing worshipers. After all have gone, the church is cleaned up in order for it to be presentable for the parishioners attending the next Mass. Usually this consists of raising the kneelers, checking for left behind items, placing the hymnals into the holders, etc.

Help is always needed and is greatly appreciated in this ministry.
