The Justice and Peace Committee is presenting an in person seminar titled ‘From Strangers to Neighbors: Building Beloved Community with Immigrants’

Join IRIS--Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services, and the Emmaus Migrant Advocacy Project, for a program on migration, at the intersection of faith and social justice. IRIS Community Liaison Ashley Makar will discuss three categories of migrants--refugees, asylum seekers, and undocumented immigrants. Her presentation will focus on the social services IRIS provides and the welcoming work of CT communities. Emmaus Migrant Advocacy Project Founder MaryJoan Piccone will speak about her work with migrant farm workers here in CT and with communities on both sides of the US/Mexico border. Ashley and MaryJoan will gladly address your questions and engage in conversation about the joyful, challenging work of building community with immigrants.

All are welcome!
