Dear parish family,
November finds us still journeying in a pandemic that has wearied us and made patience a virtue that gets more and more difficult to practice. But that’s exactly what we need to do even if the rest of the world has given up on it. This month of thanks reminds us that even in challenging times we find hope and goodness surrounding us if we look with the eyes of faith. How blessed we are to have faith.
This November we also give thanks and pray for the eighty-five people who passed away last year from our two communities. Each one of their lives was a precious gift from God that made our lives and world better. These individuals made a difference as they touched hearts, raised families, loved, sacrificed and had faith and trust in God. I often wonder if our loved ones understood what a powerful influence they had on us and the world. We give thanks for the faith that directs us throughout the seasons of life.
The Church desires our eyes to look towards heaven as our final goal and not towards the worldly gods that surround us.
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help. My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121)
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone. May God continue to bless and protect us during this difficult time in history.
With gratitude for all you do – hang in there and keep praying!
Peace,
Fr. Rick
