My dear Blessed Sacrament family,
Last September 26th I celebrated my 5th year as a member of this outstanding family of faith. I want to thank you all for being my family and for giving the encouragement to keep loving God and serving His people. I cannot believe I am now in my second year of theology and that I have been devoting my life to Christ undergoing religious formation in different facets in the last seven years. I thank you all for being there for me. Since you are my family, I would love to share with you the stages and good news of my formation before I am ordained in few years.
As my formation moves on, Mother Church in her wisdom allows those in seminary formation to receive each year a special ministry; last November, I was coffered “candidacy” or admission to the Holy Orders during a special Mass in which the Church gave me her blessing to move forward to the next step closer to ordination. This next step is the conferral of the ministry of Lector in which Mother Church is going to commend me the special task of being an instituted lector of God’s word in the different liturgical celebrations. By the blessing of God and Bishop Cote, I want to ask you to pray for me as on Friday October 16th, when I will be instituted to the ministry of Lector during a Mass presided by Bishop Juan Miguel Betancourt, Auxiliary Bishop of Hartford in our Seminary Chapel. This ministry is important because this means I am on the path to the ministry of Acolyte, then diaconate (2022), and finally (I hope) priesthood (2023). Keep me in your prayers, love you all.
Your caffeinated Seminarian,
Dharen Brochero
