Dear Parish Family,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many who were so kind with words of congratulations, generous gifts, and supportive presence at my 25th Anniversary Open House. I was humbled and overwhelmed with the outpouring of love I received from you. I’m not alone when I tell you that it truly is a privilege to be a priest in our parish and a member of such a large and dynamic family. We are blessed.
As I opened each anniversary card, I recorded your kindnesses on my computer so that I could write thank you cards to each of you. When I finished with the list, I saw that I had fourteen full pages of names. Unfortunately, unless I take a sabbatical from work, I had to face the reality that I couldn’t write individual notes. I hope this letter will suffice as a statement of my very sincere gratitude to each of you. My family and I will never forget this anniversary and it’s all because of you.
In closing I also wanted to thank my Pastoral Council for throwing such a wonderful party. I couldn’t believe how perfect the afternoon was. Thank you to the many volunteers who came forward for the celebration. Your time, talent and enthusiasm were amazing. One shout out to Eileen who made 500 of my favorite cupcakes. They were perfect. Finally, thank you to God for the abundant blessings he bestows upon our parish. May He be our inspiration and help as we continue to grow in our faith.
