Blessed Sacrament Parish has been receiving requests from parishioners on travel and quarantine guidance especially with family and students returning home as Thanksgiving and Christmas approach. In an effort to provide guidance to all our parishioners, we will include a “Covid-19 Corner” in the bulletin periodically.
We are relying on information distributed by the State of Connecticut. Typically, Connecticut updates its guidance Tuesdays, but you can always get the latest guidance at:
Within that guidance is the latest travel guidance at:
As of Tuesday, November 24, 2020, the only unrestricted travel into Connecticut at this time is from RI, NJ, NY, and HI. Anyone entering Connecticut from another country or state must upon entry complete an online travel form and self-quarantine for 14 days or take a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR test and submit that test result to the Connecticut Commissioner of Public Health. The travel form link, FAQ’s and email/fax to submit the test results are in the travel link above. Note that the RT-PCR test is the only acceptable test. If you take the test, you still must self-quarantine until you receive and submit the test results. Failure to comply is subject to a $500 penalty.
Covid-19 RT-PCR testing is available every Tuesday in the St. Bernard Church parking lot. Testing times are:
Drive-Thru Testing Only |
|
9:00am to 10:00am |
Walk-Up Testing Only |

Testing will be available to anyone regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Pre-screening is strongly encouraged to expedite the testing process. This pre-screening can be done through telemedicine evaluations at Priority Urgent Care (860-454-0678) or www.priorityuc.com. If it becomes necessary, a separate testing time for our parish may be arranged.
