Deacon Miller

Some information about our speaker:  Deacon Art Miller is an author, radio and former television host, a Vietnam veteran, a certified spiritual director, and a veteran civil rights worker.  He recently retired as the director of the Office for Black Catholic Ministries in the Archdiocese of Hartford.  Besides his assigned parish at St. Mary’s in Simsbury, he is the chaplain at Hartford’s Capital Community College and serves as an adjunct faculty member for Holy Family Retreat Center in West Hartford and Our Lady of Calvary Retreat Center in Farmington, CT.

Deacon Miller is a nationally known preacher of God’s Holy Scripture.  He has traveled throughout the country raising the need of conversion to “Radical Love”- the kind of     self-denying love that can only be accomplished through the grace and power offered to us through Jesus Christ.  He has received many awards for his work for peace and social justice.

Every other Tuesday, Deacon Art Miller gives a video-recorded reflection on the scripture readings for the day.  You can check out the website and listen to him speak, by clicking on the date first and then ‘View Reflection Video.’    For a sample of his reflections, click HERE
