We Are Called to Live the Mission

Part 3 - Service

As a Catholic family, we are called by Christ to prayerfully create and nourish a vibrant community centered on the Eucharist and dedicated to service, spirituality, and evangelization.

October 18, 2021 at 7:00 PM

"If God were to give us an 11th commandment,"
Deacon Art proposes,
"I believe that it would read: Thou Shall Not be a bystander."

Please bring your Bible if you have one.

Some information about our speaker:  Deacon Art Miller is an author, radio and former television host, a Vietnam veteran, a certified spiritual director, and a veteran civil rights worker.  He recently retired as the director of the Office for Black Catholic Ministries in the Archdiocese of Hartford.  Besides his assigned parish at St. Mary’s in Simsbury, he is the chaplain at Hartford’s Capital Community College and serves as an adjunct faculty member for Holy Family Retreat Center in West Hartford and Our Lady of Calvary Retreat Center in Farmington, CT.

Every other Tuesday, Deacon Art Miller gives a video-recorded reflection on the scripture readings for the day.  You can check out the website and listen to him speak, by clicking on the date first and then ‘View Reflection Video.’    For a sample of his reflections, click HERE
